SAFETY & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Careful handling starts with preparation.

A piano move requires trained people, appropriate equipment, and a clear understanding of the route. Our planning considers the instrument, the crew, your property, and everyone around the work area.

A trained piano-moving team

Our staff are trained in piano handling and coordinated team movement. Before the move, the team reviews the route, individual roles, and communication needed for stairs, turns, loading, and final placement.

Equipment matched to the move

Piano boards, dollies, securing straps, and heavy-duty blankets each have a specific purpose. Equipment selection, condition, and load capacity must match the piano and the agreed handling plan.

Protection for the piano and property

Protective wrapping and securing methods are planned around the instrument. We review vulnerable surfaces, door frames, flooring, thresholds, and the space needed to work at both locations.

A route assessed before booking

Flights of stairs, landing dimensions, tight turns, narrow openings, and overhead clearance all matter. We review the full route alongside the piano’s size and weight before confirming what can be accommodated.

STAIRS & TIGHT ACCESS

Space for the instrument—and the team.

A piano fitting through an opening is only one part of the assessment. Landings, approach angles, working space, and the route beyond that opening must also be considered.

ON MOVING DAY

Review changes before proceeding.

Please tell us if building access, the piano, or its destination has changed. Keep the agreed path clear and children and pets away from the work area. If conditions differ from the plan, the next step should be reassessed before handling continues.
