MOVE OVERVIEW

Planning a baby grand or grand piano move

Grand piano requests are reviewed according to the model or approximate size, access at both buildings, and the work needed to move the instrument. We confirm whether the proposed route and timing can be accommodated before accepting the job.

ACCESS & PREPARATION

What we review before your move.

01

Piano size and model

Share the model name or approximate length if you know it. Photos should show the full instrument and its current position.

02

Full access route

Photograph doors, hallway turns, stairs, landings, and any elevator involved at both locations.

03

Handling and final position

Let us know about restricted working space, building rules, and where the piano needs to be placed. We review handling requirements before confirmation.

YOUR ESTIMATE

A quote based on the move.

We review the instrument, route, access at both locations, and timing before providing a price. Tell us if any detail changes before the move is confirmed.

REQUESTING A MOVE

  1. 1

    Identify the instrument

Send the model or approximate length, measured from the keyboard to the far end of the piano. “Not sure” is a fine place to start.

  2. 2

    Review both locations

We assess doors, stairs, landings, elevator dimensions, and the final room before confirming the move.

  3. 3

    Agree on the move plan

Handling, access, timing, and price are reviewed together. Larger instruments and difficult routes are assessed individually.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What to know.

Prepare for your move
Do I need to prepare or take apart the piano?+

Please discuss preparation with us before moving any parts. Leave the instrument as it is for the assessment and send photos of the piano and access route.

Can a grand piano be moved using stairs?+

Stair access must be assessed individually. Provide the piano size, the number of steps, and photos of landings, turns, and doorways. We confirm feasibility before booking.

Can you move a larger grand piano?+

Send the model or size, route, and access photos. Larger instruments require an individual assessment; submitting a request does not confirm that the job can be accepted.

Photos and measurements are optional when you first contact us. Your quote request becomes a booking only after we confirm the move with you.
